West River Chiropractic Co was started by Dr. Brett Wegleitner and Dr. Matthew Chuppe. Both doctors are originally from Bismarck, ND, and grew up together playing sports, hunting, fishing, and spending time with each other’s families.

Dr. Wegleitner moved from Bismarck, ND, during elementary school to Billings, MT, and then again to Mesa, AZ, where he graduated high school. He then went to Concordia College in Moorhead, MN playing collegiate soccer. Dr. Chuppe is a graduate of St. Mary’s Central High School in Bismarck, ND, and went on to St. John’s University for his undergraduate degree and to play collegiate baseball.

They remained friends throughout the years and even lived together for a couple of years during chiropractic school at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. Both have the desire to be a family-based practice in the Bismarck and Mandan area, and they would like to give back to the communities that had given them so much through the years. When they are not in the office treating patients, they can be found hunting and fishing or spending time with their families.

Our goal is to not only alleviate pain but, more importantly, inspire and educate our patients to become active participants in their own well-being to reach their maximum potential.

Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Brett Wegleitner DC

Dr. Brett Wegleitner is originally from Bismarck, ND, and has spent time in Montana and Arizona prior to attending college. He attended both Aurora University in Chicago, IL, and Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, for his undergraduate studies. He played collegiate soccer all four years. He received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN.

Dr. Wegleitner has spent time in the Minneapolis/St. Paul and Bismarck/Mandan areas. During this time, he has developed expertise in a variety of chiropractic techniques, including Activator, Muscle Testing, ProAdjustor, Diversified (manual) Technique, Active Release Technique (ART), Nutrition, and several other therapy modalities. All ages can be treated by Chiropractic, from newborns to the elderly. Dr. Wegleitner has treated patients in their late 90’s and patients as young as newborns.

When Dr. Wegleitner is not in the office caring for patients, you can find him hunting, fishing, playing hockey, soccer, and spending time with his wife Maddy and three kids, Maverick, Roman and Honey.

Dr. Matthew Chuppe DC

Dr. Matthew Chuppe was born and raised in Bismarck, ND, where he graduated from St. Mary's Central High School in 2009. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from St. John's University in Collegeville, MN, in 2013. While attending St. John's, Dr. Matt was a member of the baseball and football teams. He then moved on to Northwestern Health Sciences University, where he received his doctorate degree in Chiropractic in 2016.

While in the Twin Cities, Dr. Matt practiced at three prominent clinics, where he gained experience in a variety of techniques, which allow him to treat a broad range of conditions.

Dr. Matt moved back home to North Dakota to practice Chiropractic. He enjoys treating patients of all ages, from infancy to the elderly. Throughout his years of playing sports, he developed a passion for helping athletes return from injury and get them back on the playing field as soon as possible.

In his spare time, Dr. Matt enjoys hunting, fishing, playing sports, and spending time with his friends and family.

Dr. Wegleitner and Dr. Chuppe provide the members of our communities with high-quality, affordable health care in a comfortable and caring environment. Their goal is to alleviate pain and to inspire and educate their patients to become active participants in their own well-being in order to reach their maximum potential.
